  when the dubs finally get the may 1st wt will they even notice the 1935 doctrine changes??.

  I brought up this subject several times to different ones in the congregation. The response I got was just about the same for each person.

  With a glazed look on their face they said, "That shows we living at the very end of the final part of the last days?"

  That location on the back looks familiar.

  Alligator Wisdom:

  A play on words. (1) What comes to mind when you see an alligator? Are you wise enough not to irritate it? (2) The brain of an alligator is about the size of a human thumb. I may be stupid, but I'm learning all the time. Besides, would you mess with an alligator?

  Being raised as a JW, I was taught to struggle and contend in order to get approved by Jehovah. It burned me out. Now I realize that God is far more lenient and loving than the WTS portrayed Him to be. The avatar is a reminder of what energy I wasted in the past and to reassure me that Jehovah gives me strength that is not of my own.

  Went to Memorial - where was everybody?

  i haven't missed a memorial since i started attending over 50 years ago.

  tonight i was expecting the hall to be jambed as usual.

  i sat in the 5th row from the front and from where i sat, i could see 31 empty seats--there may have been more.

  Our congregation attendance for the Memorial was 25% down from last year.

  The interesting thing was that it was VERY noticable.

  Many of the friends mentioned it with others after the meeting. Why? Why? Why? One brother even said to me that it could be because of "Jehovah's disapproval" and "that someone may be committing a hidden sin".

  2 years ago, i went to a meeting and the brother talking in the front said that the internet was full of dirty rats..... he was looking at me when he said that.

  How long can you go to the meetings and not get baptized?

  usually, adults who attend meetings regularly and aren't baptized yet are encouraged to do so.

  usually after 1 or 2 years a person who attends meetings regularly will get baptized.. i wonder what would happen if a person would go to meetings for years and not want to get baptized.

  would the elders finally brand them as evil or start shunning them somehow?.

  There is this one woman who continues to attend my former congregation for the past 25 years. She is an on-again off-again study. Never would get baptized. Since she has been there for many many years, everyone calls her Sister XXXXXXX. Wow! Being a part of the flock and identified as one too without getting dunked.

  Her daughter and grandson even studied before, but no longer go to meetings. Needless to say, they never got baptized either.
